VISION

RECOGNIZING MORE THAN JUST ORIGIN

The *Portugal Sou Eu* Digital Passport is a new initiative currently under development that aims to enhance the value of companies participating in the program.

More than just a mark of origin, the Digital Passport will highlight companies that adopt good environmental, social, and innovation practices, recognizing their commitment to a more responsible and sustainable production model.

Currently in the implementation phase, this tool will complement the *Portugal Sou Eu* seal, creating an additional layer of recognition for those who go further in generating a positive impact.

It is not enough to simply manufacture in Portugal; *how* we do it matters. The Digital Passport highlights companies that adopt sustainable, efficient practices with a positive impact on the environment and society.

Efficiency and Resource Management

Reduction in the consumption of energy, water, and raw materials
Waste control and recycling at all stages of the process
Adoption of reusable, recyclable, or biodegradable packaging

Sustainable Materials and Responsible Sourcing

Use of domestic and/or certified raw materials
Preference for local suppliers and short supply chains
Substitution of materials with a high environmental footprint

Energy and Mobility

Use of renewable energy (solar, wind, biomass, etc.)
Optimization of energy consumption in facilities
Adoption of sustainable mobility solutions for transport and logistics

Raising Awareness and Internal Culture

Employee training on environmental practices
Internal waste reduction initiatives
Transparent communication regarding the company's environmental impact

Practical Example of Sustainability

De Feitu breathes new life into Portuguese textile industry surplus
De Feitu, a domestic brand founded by Maria João, transforms surplus materials from the Portuguese textile industry into comfortable, timeless garments, promoting a more sustainable approach to production.
The concept emerged from the founder's engagement with the textile sector in Barcelos and the identification of a common challenge: finding new uses for materials that, despite being in good condition, go unused because they fail to meet specific production requirements.
At De Feitu, the raw material itself guides the creative process. The characteristics and quantities of available knit fabrics determine which garments can be developed, allowing for the repurposing of materials that have already been produced.
Launched in June 2026, the brand seeks to reduce the need for new raw materials and contribute to the more efficient use of resources within the national textile industry.
The name itself reflects this philosophy: "De Feitu" plays on the word *defeito* (defect), referencing the ability to transform materials—initially deemed unsuitable for a specific production run—into new creative opportunities.
It is an example of how domestic production can combine creativity, sustainability, and resource valorization, contributing to value creation in Portugal and a more circular economy.
